I missed an answer about why the patient was toxic.
Reminds me of that case in the California ER where a lot of staff got sick after a patient emitting "toxic fumes" came in to be treated. Only problem was that nothing was found to be "toxic" in the patient and some speculated that it was something in the ER (cleaner, contaminant, or something else) that was there to begin with and the hospital was trying to cover up their mistake (since OSHA had to be involved) and blame the patient.

Wow! Me either.
I wondered what would stretch it out over 3 episodes.
Is it just me, or is the pregnant Jane Doe someone we should know? Perhaps a previous patient seen by Alex and Madison? Something is telling me that her facial injuries are masking her identity, but I can't think of anyone specific from a past episode.

LOL, yeah I'm really behind.
From Spoilerfix:
Episode 3.16: Drowning on Dry Land
Airdate: February 15, 2007
02/14 - I'm hearing it'll be someone else [than Derek] who's ultimately tasked with saving Mer. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
02/13 - What I can tell you is that (1) there is a death this week, (2) there is another death next week, and (3) one of those deaths will stick. Source: Kristin on E!Online [Note: Highlight if you want to be that spoiled... Sources say Meredith is the one who dies but will be revived and that her mother will be the permanent death.
I knew they weren't going to kill Meredith, the show is NAMED after her! Since this is a 3-parter I'm assuming Meredith will be revived this week and then her mom will die next week?
End of spoilers.

Ok, so no one watched tonight's episode and ran here to write about it?![]()
I won't give away anything for those who haven't seen it yet, but how are the writers getting out of this? Obviously, it's not final. It should be quite interesting.
Dream sequence, anyone?
I swear I saw a little shark jumping tonight.
These big episodes always seem so bizarre(Super Bowl, 2nd Season Finale), and this one was no exception. They go a bit over the top. I have to say, with the exception of the Meredith plot, it was an awesome episode however.
They really are in a hole this time though. They can't kill her because she's the title character, but she's been out for so long it'll be unrealistic for her to come back alive.

Oh and I'd hate to be another person in that hospital needing surgery or whatever. Was anyone(doctor or intern) NOT either inside Meredith's room or right outside the door? That bothered me, considering the "mass casualty" event is what started this whole thing.

the water was cold....now i'm no science major or doctor (and i haven't seen the episode yet due to a social life) but maybe there's something to do with her body temp being so low from the water and the cold air? Duckie should be able to answer me on this. She's our resident Izzy!
( I compared her to Izzy cuz i think that's her favorite character!)

Preview for next week, episode title is "Some Kind of Miracle". Hmmm... wonder what THAT refers to.

It's the last new episode for awhile. I don't know when the next one is(not before Mid-March).

Well, I know they had blankets on her and Addison was suggesting a warm peritoneal lavage, but the last temp I remember them giving for Meredith's body was 80 degrees. And one of those little gems you learn in the ER is "No one is dead until they are warm." So she's still too cold to be declared dead.
It didn't happen often when I worked in the ER, but we had a handful of cold patients. I remember a male patient who lost control of his car and flipped off the road into a creek in the winter. We kept doing CPR while warming up his body, which took a long time, and he lived.
I have no doubt that Meredith will live. But there have been cases when the star of a show left and they had to change the name of the series. Remember when "Valerie" became "Valerie's Family" and then just "The Hogan Family."
Thanks for the comparison to Izzy, CM. Wish I was as hot as her.
But, seriously...Denny and Bomb Squad Guy? That was a bit much.
