But they have tried so hard to win and have just come up short just a little on most all of the immunity challenges.....I hate that this has happened....all three Alabama boys are gone :(

Miss Mary wrote:I feel as though we haven't gotten to know the Koror tribe as we did with Ulong. Week after week, we heard Ulong deciding who to vote off. And heard more Ulong convo's. I like Tom and Ian, that's a given. Tom's easy on the eyes....he he. Ian has been my favorite all along. Coby is starting to get on our nerves now with all his whining. I thought it was a comical moment tonight when Koror members were saying what their first impressions were of their tribe - "several old people, the gay guy, a really skinny guy, etc." Forget if they had a descrip for Tom....but we all thought that was funny.

Greg's girl, the nanny, who wanted to take a shower. Oh come on, figure it out, I'm lousy at math and even I could see how far 55 gallons of water would go for 8 showers - not very far. I think Tom was right on this one - save the water for drinking, this is still a surviva contest.

My husband said poor Steph, going back all alone. I explained she's not alone, she has a film crew. Who do you think is holding that camera each week? LOL No, that girl has someone, close by, if necessary.

Poor Bobby Jon.....I thought he was going to be sick trying to get those egg things down. I just could not watch. I mean, he could have choked - that looked a little dangerous.

Mary,

At the same time it's not the same though as having a fellow tribal member with you on a team...a camera crew person isn't allowed interaction except for an emergency. I would be almost...I don't know how to describe it...too much peace and quiet around. I'd find myself talking to the crabs after a while! LOL

I'm with you Eric, it would be too spooky to go back to that cave bymyself even with all the camermen around....because they can't interact with you at all......I would not like it!

Snot rockets and chicken fetus. YUCK

I never would have guessed that this would have happened. I like Steph and thought Bobby Jon was a sweetie(snot rockets and all). lol How in the heck do you think she rowed back to camp by herself???? It's not like it was a little rowboat!!!

Awhhhhhh, I love a man in uniform. Tom is not bad at all. Koby is going to turn into a pain in the butt. Ian is from the Pittsburgh area so he has a headstart with me.

It would be interesting if Stephanie would take on the Korors and win!!!

Eric, I talk to crabs every day at work. You kinda get used to it.lol

Karan - LOL!

We wondered also how Steph got back to camp. She and Bobby Jon were having a hard time with it being just the two of them. But as Jeff Probst said - this is a first. Perhaps she's having some assistance, off camera? But then she's the type that would say no thank you. I'll manage.

Bobby Jon has many nice things to say about his 21 days in camp, on the Survivor10/Palau website:

http://www.cbs.com/primetime/survivor10/

I really admire his positive outlook on things. Iberehim had a great attitude after being voted off too. Although technically BJ wasn't voted off.

Here's the Friday morning Survivor critique at TV Guide....I love these things and often LOL at them. Because the reviewer just seems to know what we're all thinking too! How does she do that? ;-)

Survivor: Palau

I know I offhandedly joked a few weeks ago that Stephenie might be better off solo than carrying around the deadweight of Bobby Jon, Ibrehem and James in the challenges. But I never really thought it would happen. I had heard rumors that they wouldn't be merging but I guess I always figured that the Ulongers would eventually win one immunity challenge by pure dumb luck at least. I would have been wrong, but come on, who could have predicted that they'd be the losingest tribe in Survivor history? But you can tell Jeff Probst is having fun with it — from teasing She-Ra and Captain Caveman that since immunity was back up for grabs that meant "anyone" could win it, to telling Koror just to let him know which two players would be competing instead of which six would be sitting out. And after the camp fire starter lost a one-on-one flame growing competition to Steph, Probst looked a little too happy uttering, "Your tribe definitely did not speak tonight," while he was snuffing out poor Bobby Jon's torch.

But while the bad news bears couldn't keep it together, something is really rotten in the state of Koror, where you've got rats crawling around and munching on dead shark carcasses. You may be in the wilderness, but you don't have to be disgusting. It's just like The Real World: Seattle when they had the awesome digs and then trashed the place. OK, maybe it's not just like that, but the Home Depot hut is pretty darned nice. They've even got a functioning shower with fresh water, not that alpha males Tom or Ian would let anyone use them. I guess being on the island has made them completely forget that cleanliness is next to godliness. — Angel Cohn

LOL Karan!

At least if Coby were on the Ulong tribe with Steph she'd have a crab to actually talk to!!

Next week's show should definitely be interesting as probably Ulong Steph and the Koror tribe split up sending some members to Ulong.

In regard to that food challenge last night I wonder if there's an area on a survivor's application stating: In the event an individual should happen to choke to death we take no responsibility. With an added sidenote of: Just hopefully there's someone who knows the Heimlich Maneuver in the event of a potential choking! In this case at least Tom is available (being a firefighter and EMT!)

I did see a noon news interview with Bobby Jon on my local WRAL-TV5 and he really is a great individual! 8-) I believe he got distracted glancing over at Steph's fire to see how it was coming along momentarily and that's what killed his chance to stay in the game.

He stated that all things happen for a reason and that when asked about his name that it's not a family name just something his parents came up with. :D
WRAL news anchor Bill Leslie mentioned after he had asked him about his name origin is because at times in the South he's heard of like Billy Bob for ie.
and Bobby Jon just grinned. :D

We have a local bakery chain that makes a killer bistro dip (sour cream, spices, horseradish sauce) and delicious pretzel bread sticks. They slice the bread sticks on the bread slicer for you and they're the perfect accompionment to the dip.

This snack has become our Survivor snack.

So here I was up at Servati's Deli & Bakery, buying it yesterday. A nearby customer asked what was all this for - for our Survivor snack of course! She laughed and said she couldn't watch 'that show' b/c of all the nasty things they're forced to eat. I explained that so far they didn't have to do any of that. Got the impression she was going to tune in to last night's show!

And here we were munching on this snack as they were trying to swallow those chicken fetuses.

There went our snack! Like you Eric, in an earlier post you said you almost lost it then, I did too. Especially when Bobby Jon was pushing on his cheeks trying to get it all down.

What next? My family told me Survivor members have had to eat some pretty disgusting foods.

Mary,

That sounds like an absolutely awesome delectable munchie that you and your family enjoy!! :D

I remember one time...think it was Survivor: Australia (Brent please feel free to correct me if I am mistaken)...but one time there was a food challenge in that show where different dishes were laid out on a table thingy like a Lazy Susan...and it was a gamble for players which dish ended up in front of you...
there was some kind of piece of brain, insects, worms, etc...but also for a LUCKY player there was a chocolate bar included!!

A candy bar huh? Wonder who the lucky recipient of that treat was?!!! That question is probably on a Pringle's chip somewhere.....LOL

Wouldn't it be fun to have Jeff Probst compete in a challenge sometime? Or be forced to stay the night in one of their camps?

If Steph had been Julie from Survivor 9, I bet Jeff would have volunteered to keep her company. Wonder if Jeff and Julie are still dating...

I liked Julie. She was cute and nice. Always a good combination, as my hubby says. Easy on the eyes....didn't hurt that she sunbathed in the nude last Survivor round either. Think that's what caught Jeff's eye? LOL

Promo's for tonight's episode show Stephanie feeling pretty lonely, all alone now from what was her tribe, Ulong. I suspect she'll remain alone until the Immunity Challenge goes on. Those producers aren't stupid - this is a first. A lone survivor from a losing tribe.

Wonder who they'll match her up with for challenges? Hopefully not Tom! I'd like to see her matched with either Janu or Caryn. Since Stephanie could take either in any challenge. It would be nice to see Stephanie win once!

Thoughts?

Mary

PS - here's an interview with Bobby Jon:

Survivor's Alabama Man Slammed
by Angel Cohn

Another week, another Ulong tribe member voted off Survivor: Palau. Last Thursday it was Bobby Jon Drinkard's turn. That leaves only Stephenie, for those of you keeping track. After the not-so-dynamic duo lost their most recent tribal immunity challenge, they competed in an individual firemaking task, in which Steph smoked Bobby Jon. Here, TVGuide.com sits down with the 27-year-old Alabama native to learn what exactly went wrong for the cursed Ulong tribe.

TVGuide.com: No matter what happened, you were so optimistic. Did you ever want to give up?
Bobby Jon Drinkard: Many times out there, losing time after time, you tell yourself, "Gosh, there is just no way I can keep doing this. I wish somebody would just come and sweep me up right now and take me away." Then I would always think that a lot of people would like to change positions [with me, and] that I sacrificed a lot to get there, along with all the other contestants.

TVG: You seemed almost at home in the wilderness.
Bobby Jon: I did. I didn't feel like I was walking around my den floor, picking up the crackers or the remote control, but I did know where the fishing holes were and where the coconuts were.

TVG: So if you had gone back to the beach alone instead of Stephenie, how would you have fared?
Bobby Jon: I hate to toot my own horn and say that I would have been fine, but I would have.

TVG: Were you surprised they sent Stephenie back to camp by herself?
Bobby Jon: No, I really wasn't. [Host] Jeff [Probst] told us on Day 1 never to assume anything in this game. We [wrongly] assumed as a tribe that we were going to merge on Day 12 or Day 15 because we had watched past seasons.

TVG: What was the toughest loss for you?
Bobby Jon: Honestly, [that was] when I got beaten by Tom on the sumo challenge. I got beat and my pride got beat. I lost a physical challenge, and being physical is something I had always prided myself on, and I lost to somebody who is a few years older than me. I felt like I was in better shape. I tried out-muscling him and it didn't work.

TVG: Losing to him on the egg challenge must have been tough.
Bobby Jon: That made me mad. I was really hyped about that. I was trying to eat those eggs as fast as I could. But hey, I got beat. I win like a man, I lose like a man; that's just the way it is.

TVG: Stephenie said you smelled bad. Does that bother you?
Bobby Jon: You know what? I'm a man. You turn me loose in the woods and I'm going to act like a man acts. That's the way that was. Nobody had any provisions to clean themselves with. It wasn't like she just got out of a photo shoot. It was pretty nasty. I understand [that] she thought I was gross.

TVG: You had to vote off your friend Ibrehem to keep Steph around. Think you made the best decision?
Bobby Jon: Yeah. Going back and seeing the tape, I wasn't worried about the time she voted for me when Angie had to leave. That didn't bother me. She did swear to God that she didn't; there was that little flaw. But whatever, that's her style.

TVG: Are you still friends with Ibrehem?
Bobby Jon: Yeah, we've talked. We're OK with each other. He doesn't wear his feelings on his sleeve and I don't, either.

TVG: In 2003, Cosmopolitan named you Alabama's Bachelor of the Year. How'd that happen?
Bobby Jon: [Smiles] A lady I was cutting grass for back home sent some pictures in and then they called and said, "We are doing an issue where the guys are chosen to be the representatives for each state." They tapped me as the guy from Alabama. I was glad to do it. I'd done some modeling when I was younger, but had to shut it down because of school.

TVG: So are you modeling now?
Bobby Jon: If I was smart, I'd probably be doing something with my degree [a B.A. in public relations/print journalism] and paying my bills and stuff. Now I'm just living week to week, waiting tables and stuff. Hopefully, I can pick up modeling where I left off.
