Did Typhoon Muifa interrupt gasoline shipments?

We've dropped 40 cents to $3.25 here in the past week or two.

I fill up 3xs a week and always take $60.00 with me and I usually get change, Sundays I get back the most as I usually just top it off. Well, we went Monday night and for the first time in a long time I did not get any change, filled the van up and got a little over 16 gallons, it was $3.73, sigh.

Drove home last night and that gas station is now $3.77, the rest of them by home are now $3.81, $3.83. NJ is $3.59, sigh

$200 barrel of oil soon?

  Anything is possible about that with the Iran standoff and other hot spots lurking out there.

Signs that crude futures may hit much higher levels are converging, say oil traders and analysts, some of whom predict that Brent crude could reach $200 a barrel within the next 12 months.

This is absurd. $3.61 for regular. We have to regulate the speculation on oil, gas and other commodities that affect the livelihoods of the average person.

Well, the Exxon off the Lansdale extension of the Blue Route jumped to $3.89(it was $3.85 in the AM) but if you go about a half a block further Lukoil is $3.77, I don't know how many people got swindled at Exxon! If you go further down the road the first gulf is $3.85, 2 blocks further that gulf is $3.81, go 2 more blocks Sunoco is $3.80.

NJ was still $3.59 this AM.

Government regulation is about the last think we'd want to happen. Government needs to let the oil companies search for new oil reserves (other than only on private land) and build more refineries. Almost all refineries in the U.S. are at 100% capacity now, and some are closing because with all the new regulations. Sure, we don't want to pollute the environment, but some regulations are well beyond the point of diminishing returns. There are so many government regulations in place now that it's not profitable (or impossible) to build any new refineries.

Threat of Refinery Strike Could Push Gas Prices Higher

A potential strike Tesoro’s Anacortes refinery in Washington could lead to higher gas prices.

After going out yesterday I saw $3.68(paid at Costco)-$3.95(Shell).

As wxman57 says we need a lot less government regulation, not more. We also need to accelerate the research and use of alternate energy sources. I am proud to say that Houston uses more wind energy than any other city, at least that is what I saw on the tube the other day. The wind farms are in W TX, so I am sure there is some sort of trade off through the use of the grid to get it here. I think the figure I saw/heard was 40%. As much as I want us to be using alternative/cleaner sources I also know that some of the biggest oil reserves in the world are right here in NA and the US and just off our coasts. If we are to ever to become independent of other countries for our energy(all kinds)we must allow our oil companies to explore here at home, not make it impossible for them to do so or to refine it.

Off base... mid-grade is $8.435 with diesel at $7.637.
