More prayers coming your way, Jeremy. How did it go today after your mom talked to the doctors?

Jeremy,

That can be a scary situation... However, many people today are living with shunts in their heads... you can do this.
I'll pray for you.

Actually, if mom spoke to them, she didn't say anything about it. So I wouldn't know right now.

But what i do know is what I posted above.

Well I got the results...and they are mixed.

The good news is that the MRI showed no change between July '04 and now. The bad news is, that we still don't know the cause of the sleep issues. So, the next step is a sleep study sometime in this next couple weeks. So we'll see what happens.

Jeremy,
I am not asking this to be nosey but do you snore badly? If you do it could be causing your sleep problems. Snoring is a sign of sleep apnea which left untreated can lead to heart attack or falling asleep at the wheeel of a car while driving. For years my husband would snore when we went to sleep at night and finally I told him to talk with his doctor about why he is always tired. My husband has sleep apnea so bad that even the Vicap machine they gave him to use doesn't help a lot. He has it set to blow the maximum amount of air and he still snores some. Have your sleep study done and follow what ever they say to do as a follow up.

Nothing wrong with asking the question. I don't notice myself snoring, but they say you can be doing it, and not know it.

Jeremy, my hubby didn't snore when we got married 30 years ago but over the years he gradually started snoring until it was so loud it would wake me up from a sound sleep and could be heard thru the bedroom door out in the living room. He was always tired after work that was not always a result of the work. He could fall asleep within 5 minutes after sitting down. He would fall asleep while driving at night coming home from work but would wake up in time to avoid having an accident. So I demanded he have a sleep study done. The results of it were very startling. He has sleep apnea so bad that they can't measure how bad it is because he maxed out the measuring chart. He has to sleep with what amounts to an oxygen mask blowing air into his airway to keep him breathing at night. Before testing , he would frequently stop breathing many times during the night and not getting any sleep, that was why he was so tired.
