Hey Mary - we're both from that club - what a few of my friends my age like to say - the 55 Club! 1955 was a very good year huh? LOL

Well, I have ya beat by a few months (turn 50 in May). So I'll let you know if my world falls apart!!! Or a band shows up for when that AARP card arrives - my family has been saying for years now - soon you'll get your AARP card Mom!!!! Ever since I was 47 or something. I joke with them I can hardly 'enjoy' being 47-49, b/c all I ever hear about is that big 5-0 looming ahead.....

Just thought I'd make ya feel better....you're not the only old fart around here!

my husband turned 52 last year and got our AARP cards then. It's really remarkable how many discounts you can get with that thing. I wont be 50 for a while. You should see the look on people's faces when I pull that AARP card out. I tell them I'm really 65.

See, that goes with my theory. If you lie about your age and say you are younger than you really are, people will think you look really old and lousy for your age. If you say you are older, people will say wow, she really looks great!!
