Apparently "great one" saw a comment I made in the tropical forum about earning respect (re: the pro met sticker), and he just sent me a very nasty email....among other things, said he was a much better forecaster than me, and that his hurricane forecasts last season were excellent (of course he also said Charley was a 160 mph cat-5 ;)

G.O. also seems extremely agitated with Storm2k (but didn't make any threats), so was just letting you know he's on the warpath; might try and sneak on to post some more "official" GOLFROCK/ MWHC forecast products :D

In regards to G.O. --sometimes wish there was a therapy group for Egos Anonymous.

In a first, G.O. does NOT call for T.D. 2-E to become even a hurricane. Although the forecast wasn't actually by G.O. himself, I still consider that a step.

Alright, I'm being off-topic and mean toward the wrong guy. However, G.O.'s ISP should also be notified, as G.O. just spins up trouble wherever he goes. As for whoever it was who hacked S2K, I don't know who it is but have an idea, and it was a VERY good idea to get the ISP records so that person can be found out.

And Perry, I understand your anger. Maybe not publicizing your e-mail address would be a good idea, or blocking G.O. altogether from sending you e-mail. Just a thought.

Just remember: "Illegitimus non carborundum." Don't let G.O. or anyone else bring you down. You don't have to be a great forecaster to still know a lot about weather. :)

And I think you're a pretty darn good forecaster to say the least.

Thanks, but it's no problem...in fact, after my response, he emailed back and said he was sorry.

I personally believe Tom's a kid (an enthusiastic but prankish kid)...he's emailed me before a few times, usually asking for hurricane information, which I gladly provide (as I do for anyone who requests).

Hmmm... Could they lose their ISP due to this?

I would think so!

I don't post as often as others do, but I had no problems getting on the forum yesterday!

As best as I can determine he is 21 years old or maybe 23. Of course there is no way to verify it for sure.

That's really good of G.O. to at least come forward and apologize. He may be one of the biggest trolls on the Internet, but he is young (as you said David, I also think he's about my age, and I'm 21) and has a chance to grow up and mature as a human being. I am hoping he does so, and that he can still live a good life in the future.

Apologizing is not enough sometimes.. And it starts to lose its meaning after so long as well.. Saying sorry dosnet mean a thing if the next day you are just going to do the same thing

That is true, and you have a point. Although it likely won't happen, I just hope G.O. doesn't do those same things again, and not just to hurt us.

And also get into some counseling or support group...if not on his own then at the urging of a family member.
