Couldn't sleep last night

#1 Postby MomH » Sat Jun 18, 2005 10:34 pm

so the following came about.

TODAY WE GOT YOU BACK
In remembrance of a loving mother
by
MomH

Many years ago, when Daddy died, you left us.
Your body was here but, your heart wasn’t.
Slowly we got you back.
The pain eased and you took back your life.
You learned to live again.

Some years ago you left us again.
Your body was here but, your mind wasn’t.
Sadly, we never got you back.
Our pain increased as we saw your life disappearing.
We learned to live in our pain.

Recently you left us again.
This time your soul left.
Though you will never again be with us in this life,
We are not sad.
For today we got you back.

Today we know you will be with us always.
For today we know that God has made you whole again.
Slowly our pain will ease and we will learn to live again.
Today we got you back and we rejoice.
For today and for all our tomorrows:

We will hear you in the voices of your children.
We will see you in the faces of your grandchildren.
We will speak of you to induce a great grandchild’s laughter.
We will feel your presence near us in our times of joy and of sorrow.
We will Love You Always.

Kiss Daddy for all of us.
For Today He Got You Back, Too.

Thank you so much, MomH, for sharing this touching tribute. I could substitute the phrase "a loving father," for this, too, is the story of my dad, who passed in November, 2002.

Well I do have tears running down my cheeks. It's amazing how writing down those thoughts helps us thru some difficult times. Once you get it on paper it seems to be released in the mind. That was beautiful. Thanks for sharing. ((Hugs)) God gets us thru those rough times and makes us stronger and wiser.
