I'm sorry, I missed that. I don't read every post here in every thread. Certianly not all 10k!

The Middle Class Squeeze is being much reported on though, reflecting prices not just at the pump but also at the grocery store, retail stores and anywhere consumer goods are transported via highway. I feel it plenty, college tuition for my kid isn't going to be a circus, believe me.

Too, I travel the highways everyday and the chatter on the cb from the truckers, who are feeling it too, isn't pretty. They're probably getting squeezed the worst, being right there in the middle.

There's all kinds of stuff on the web about it, here's some places to start:

.....

"Cherish, therefore, the spirit of our people,
and keep alive their attention.

Do not be too severe upon their errors,
but reclaim them by enlightening them.

If once they become inattentive to the public affairs,
you and I, and Congress, and Assemblies, Judges, and Governors,

Shall all become wolves."

Thomas Jefferson, letter to Edward Carrington, January 16, 1787

You're right Kiko - there's alot of stuff here that I haven't had a chance to read. You'd be surprised though you'll find you have more in common with some people than you originally thought.

The gas prices aren't helping the economy's recovery at all. I'm sure that it would be doing better if these price increases hadn't occurred. All it will do is cut down on capital investment and new purchases by the consumer. It's a trickle down affect and a vicious cycle.
