Dennis... I know what you mean. I leave it on one of the news networks, mainly CNN because they have people still inside Iraq, because I am afraid I will miss something.

Mine has been on Fox News!! It's almost always on even when I can't watch so I can hear when there's breaking news. I'll flip it around sometimes to see what everyone else is saying. Btw, Fox News has people in Iraq too. That's one job I wouldn't want! :o

It is good that so many of us ARE so interested in what's happening, and stay informed; but, let's not be SO "tuned in" that we end up suffering from "CNN Syndrome" (or, in my case "FoxNews Syndrome" )...first noted during Gulf War I, psychologists and counselors nationwide had to treat people for anxiety and "rule-out" DSS, just from being glued to their tubes 24/7/365.

Personally, I place my trust in our military planners...they know exactly what they're doing, as witness the "decaptitation strikes" this early evening/morning, and it won't add one hour to my life to PERMIT myself to get sick or over-stressed by giving in to compulsive viewing. :o

"Be calm...be still...relax...rest in the arms of the Dragon...sleep...DREEEAM..." (this last quoting Nicol Williamson in his role of Merlin in "Excalibur", and wise advice it is!) 8)

I watch CNN and Fox news all night long every night. I hardly ever watch prime time tv. To much going on in the world right now. Don't want to miss a thing. Hey, isn't that a song title? And at work I am on the internet checking things out and my radio is on.

Dennis - I find myself having CNN on a lot too. Then it's just too much and you find yourself checking in on TV Land, just for a touch unreality as you say. I would love to watch an old Doris Day movie right now, for example. Just a 2 hour escape. But I won't, too much is going on. It's addictive - you can't turn it off but sometimes you should. Just for sanity reasons. Then you feel guilty wanting an escape. Our troops can't have an escape right now.

I pulled the TV out of my workshop this morning and took it to work. Had to use an old set of rabbit ears but at least I wasn't totally out of touch. :D

My mom called me last night and said she was going to add some channels today to her satellite and asked if I would want to come over because she was going to get Al Jazeera. I then reminded her that it would not be in English and she said, "Oh!". Gee Maw...
