Prayers needed!!

#1 Postby TexasStooge » Fri Apr 23, 2004 9:30 am

My Dad, Jerry recently lost his job 2 days ago at Dallas Linen Service, not only that, but was discriminated against, all because of his age. He's 60 years old, not old enough to retire, but they cut him loose anyway. :(

Please pray that my Dad may get his job back or that he might get a better job, I appreciate it.

Prayers being sent out. I know how this goes when a parent loses their job. But based on age, that is discrimination, you bet! Your dad should get a lawyer or something. That is just not right.

I know how you feel ... just because a boss "feels" someone is too old to work doesn't "mean" they are too old to work. When the person feels they are ready to retire, they will.

Prayers going out to your family Stooge.

I can appreciate your dad's situation. I will be 58 this year...and am always mindful that the company could find a reason to cut me loose.

Hopefully he will be reconsidered. If that can not happen, I trust that his experience will be seen as a real benefit for someone else.

Keep us posted on his progress.

I will remember your Dad in my prayers.
My father was unemployed for over 7 years in South Africa, due to his age. He only recently managed to get a job, and they are way underpaying him, but he took it because it was so long since he was able to provide for my mom.
Its tough being unemployed and I really do pray the Lord will send something good your Dad's way.

Thank you guys! ;)

My Dad may have made arrangements with an attorney, so hopefully, the boss will have his/her head on straight and hire my Dad back.

If not that, he may consider a better job.
