My son is so handsome that wherever he goes, people are extra nice to him. Waitresses give him much better service than they do his dad and me. They give him refills without him having to ask, etc, and he gets huge portions. He just bought a salad for me, and no kidding, it was twice as big as any I have ever been given at the same place. Plus, it had loads more types of veggies than I even knew they had. It has been this way for him for several years, and he just laughs about it. I am envious. (not really). But, I do know that handsome/pretty people get better treatment most times. :D

Which may explain why I always get hideous service at any restaurant, short of McD's, or any fast food place. Tonight we had mexican before dropping daughter off at the airport-took 15 minutes just to get water for heaven's sakes. Both my husband and she thought I was gonna start a riot............. :grr:

Oh, I know, Helen, and you can go to a bar and drink free all night too. My step daughter does that, and it drives me crazy. She can get these pathetic guys to buy her drinks all night just by paying attention to them and getting their hopes up. There's no justice in the world.

Funny thing...my two sons and daughter-in-law, especially when spruced up for dinner, also attract the waitress queens or waiter kings to the table. They are on them from the moment we go in the restauarant. We are tagalongs.

The check always finds its way to my place at the table though, so somewhere along the way they do notice me. My balding head must reflect well in the lights!

When Kathy and I are out together, it doesn't work that way. Of course, when we go out to dinner these days it is 4 o'clock in the afternoon. I think the breakfast cook is probably responsible for waiting tables, too, at that time of day, and he's waiting for the real chef to get their for the night shift so he can finally go home.

I always figure a little better tip for a young lady or young man who waits on us with a natural conversation and a smile because I figure that somewhere in their lives are some parents they love and a granny or grandpa they care about too!
