Streetsolider,

I am a Brownie Troop Leader - by default no other parent HAD time to do it - like I do - work 40-50 hours a week and still do this - but here is the Girl Promise that the troop is learning.

GIRL SCOUT PROMISE
On my honor, I will try to serve God and my country, to help people at all times and to live the by the Girl Scout law.

They actually encourage to make religion a part of our brownie troop. Just thought you would like to know that GOD hasn't been taken out of our troop.

Ticka,

I was a long-time Scout/Scouter, BSA Commissioner and Merit Badge Counselor (all Citizenship badges and American Heritage); the reason I remember this is that when it happened, there was an outcry from the atheists to drag BSA into court, so to force us to change OUR Oath, Law and Promise. We didn't.

Things may have changed...I haven't been in Scouting for 6 years (retired due to failing health), so I have to admit that I have no up-to-date information.

Streetsoldier didn't mean to sound harsh - sounds like each region might have its own rules and etc for things like that....

I have to commend you for being a volunteer - too few do it and trust me there is alot of paperwork and redtape in being a leader if it wasn't for the kids - I won't go through all this hassle.

Have a good evening streetsoldier and take care.

I've got 10 boxes in my pantry. Tagalongs (my fav), thin mints and All Abouts.

I used to like their lemon cookies. They also had a sandwich cookie with a raspberry gel on the top in the middle of the cookie. They were delish. Then they changed bakers and didn't make em anymore.
