I found out from my oral surgeon that it was most likely the anestheic that was causing the hiccups. It's been a few hours since I've had them (thankfully), my swelling has gone down (I'm now OtherHD in the chatroom instead of Chipmunk), and I'm actualy eating normal food again (albeit rather slowly for now), so it looks like this mess is over with! Thanks to everyone for the advice and support, and Harry, best of luck to you on your surgery!
