We tend to reserve a table in advance when we dine out. I think the Outback is about the only place we dine that doesn't accept reservations that ever has any wait time. Then, we just hang by the bar and grab a table as soon as someone gets up from one in the bar. We don't ever wait the wait time there, there are too many other choices.

I will wait up to an hour if it's good food...but it's got to be darn good food for me to do that! My dad...THAT'S another story...he will stand in line to no end IF he does not have what he calls the "shakes"(common reaction to low blood sugar), otherwise we move on after about 15 minutes.

It depends on the situation. A half hour wait is usual enough when there are enough of us going
to a particular place, when there isn't an alternative at that time for whatever reason.

It depends on a lot of things. If my wife and I really have our hearts set on eating at a particular place - and we are not in a hurry - we will wait up to an hour. It also helps if we do not have to stand the entire time, or if we are not forced to wait outside when it is cold and/or wet. A few places even give out beepers that work within 100 yards of the restaurant, so you can go to an adjacent shop while waiting. This situation makes waiting > 30 minutes more bearable.

If we are very hungry and don't have our hearts set on a particular place, we won't usually wait more than 30 minutes.

Good points, John.

In reference to the "beepers"... those devices are really neat and work very well. :)
