FRIST CONFIRMS RICIN FOUND IN SENATE OFFICE

All Senate buildings closed after toxin found in majority leader's mailroom; House still open.

The also found white powder in a mailing facility in Wallingford, CT. Here is the story from one of the CT news stations.

I wonder if it's the same person or people responsible for the anthrax. Noone was caught for that right?

It is really a very scary scenario when you think about it...........the masses that could be reached in a mass mail campaign..............very scary indeed!

Ricin is a scary scary substance! This should be thoroughly investigated. I remember when they found huge caches of ricin in the UK.

It's not the first case of ricin in the US either. There was a vial found in October '03 (I believe they said at a postal facility). It was accompanied by a note demanding better conditions for OTR truckers.

Ricin can be deadly but it's very hard to use effectively for anything much more than assassination. It not very effective except for direct injection. It doesn't penetrate through the skin or ingestion. I would guess this was done by a domestic source as opposed to a foreign terrorist. Hang them all when we catch them .....
