Art Linkletter

#1 Postby ColdFront77 » Thu Jan 29, 2004 12:39 pm

I am going to see Art Linkletter this evening at 7:00 pm Eastern. His talk is titled, "Alternative Medicine and Aging."

Interesting note... he shares the same birthday as I do (July 17th). The chances that he will be the oldest person in the room (he will be 92 this year) and I will be the youngest person in the room (I will be 27) are rather high.

There aren't many individuals between 19 and 26 years old, who are allowed to live here living in this retirement community (55+ community) and those that do wouldn't be interested in such an event.

Tom.....I can't believe Art Linkletter is 92!! I remember his program "Kids say the Darndest Things" from a looooong time ago! Our big family would crowd around our little black 'n white TV and enjoy seeing his antics when funny things came out of those kids mouths!

Sounds like an interesting evening.....have a good time.......p

I thought he was dead!

Anyway, I remember "Kids Say the Darndest Things" too. That was so funny!

Enjoy his lecture. I'm sure that it will be interesting Tom!

It hasn't been 20 years ago, yet. :)

Linkletter hosted "People are Funny" and "House Party," not "Kids Say the Darndest Things." Bill Cosby was the host of "Kids Say the Darndest Things," and Linkletter was considered the co-host, making brief appearances on the program. It was on CBS in 1998.

Linkletter was the host of the original "Kids say the darndest things" He did make occasional appearances on the show that Cosby hosted, though.

TV Tome: Art Linkletter

As you can see on the above site... Art Linkletter did not host "Kids Say the Darndest Things," alone.

Mr. Linkletter would of said he hosted "Kids Say the Darndest Things" over forty years ago, during his talk on Thursday evening. He mentioned the shows I mentioned above (my posts and link above).
