Problems with AIM

#1 Postby OtherHD » Sun Dec 07, 2003 7:47 pm

This is to anyone who has AIM. Is it just me or have you been getting stuff IMs recently? This is only something that started happening within the last 3 days, but I have had 4 already. I am hoping this isn't a permanent trend... :grr:

... and not to mention these links may very well contain virus or trojan horses.

I have my AIM set up so I don't get the actually IM unless I allow it. I have gotten these pop ups a few time a day every day for weeks.

It happens... by chance do you visit some chatrooms on AIM? Big mistake if you do...

Lyle, I have thought about changing my settings to get people that actually find my screen name can correspond with me.

You are absolutely right, I accepted an IM from someone in the last couple of weeks and it was worth meeting this person.

That is another thing, getting people to find your AIM screen name.

Great point, David. I access the AIM chatrooms sometimes and sure enough you get IMs from those in the rooms, you should knowingly know you are liable to get . I would think Lyle would expect IMs after accessing those chatrooms.
