BENBROOK, Texas - A man sporting a fake goatee who robbed a Bank of America branch inside a Benbrook grocery store Tuesday may be the same bearded bandit who recently hit banks in Grapevine, Lewisville and Garland, police said.
In all four robberies, police said, the man targeted bank branches inside grocery stores, carried a black briefcase or bag and wore a false goatee or beard to conceal his identity.
"What stands out so much is the fake beard," said officer Joe Harn, Garland police spokesman. "You know little kids in plays with beards don't look this bad. It's obvious it's fake."
The latest robbery occurred about 11:50 a.m. Tuesday at the Albertsons at 8500 Benbrook Blvd.
