There are a million responses...but I picked out a few:
* You love the thought of Liberal California greenie enviro wackos shivering in the dark, clutching spotted owls for warmth.
* You only believe what you hear if RUSH says it!
* You know what the definition of "is" is.
* Your co-workers complain about you constantly humming "My City was Gone", by the Pretenders.
* You believe that YOU, not the government, can better raise and educate your kids, manage your own retirement, and help your fellow man.
* You don't understand why money you work for is taken and given to able bodied people who will not work for it.
* You HUG your kids instead of trees.
* You listen through the static of an AM station 75 miles away because the local station has gone off the air because they didn't carry rush!
* You would like to have Rush as a guest in your home.
* All of your car radio presets are tuned to a station that carries Rush's show.
* You are asked who is the greatest President of this century and Ronald Reagan is the first name that pops into your head.
* Every time Al Gore comes on TV you want to shoot the TV before you throw up.
* You have to tie half your brain behind your back when discussing anything with a liberal, just so you won't hurt their fragile feelings.
* When agreeing with Rush, you cause your friends of a liberal slant and weakened mind to experience physical distress, heart palpitations, increased blood pressure, and uncontrolled fits of rage.
* You turn on world News Tonight with Peter Jennings and you finally realize that he just READS the news and sits back while the picture on the TV starts turning to the left.
* You are reading this ditto stuff.
* You begin to like yourself, and you believe that you are not the only one to think the way you do after hearing Rush say what you were afraid to voice.
* You believe the likes of the Clintons and the Kennedys should be serving time instead of pretending to serve the public.
* You forget your radio for work that day and you stop at Walmart and buy one.
* You have any good sense!
* You sell your home and move across the state to get close enough to the radio signal that carries Rush.
* When, after years of being an uniformed youth, you start actually listening to the news, and reading papers, and finally run across Rush and think "By God, this man said exactly what I thought when I finally grew up! May all women be free of the feminists!" And also, make a note to yourself that a feminist is NOT a lady.
* You understand that the "decade of greed" was actually the "decade of growth" and upward movement of people in all income brackets. Hail RONALD REAGAN!
* When Bill Clinton talks, you know that he is lying and turn him off.
* Your teenager prefers Rush to Howard Stern.
* You have sex while listening to The Rush Limbaugh Show.
* You are a woman and still agree with most everything that Rush has to say.
and last but not least:
* You realize there is a difference between PREFERENCE and racism.

Could some of you who really like and respect Rush please tell me a couple of things? Did you like and trust him immediately, or did it take a while? Do you think he ever does anything wrong? The few times I've heard his show, it seems as if many of his listeners say ditto to everything he says. My fear is that they are not thinking for themselves.
Thanks for the feedback.
One more question--why does he still complain about Clinton? How long will he continue?

Sunny I think you have some valid points here.. I did not immediately like Rush.. I had to listen REALLY listen to what he is saying.. I was so brainwashed by my local news that I just believed everything they said.. I dont just listen to Rush I read other things & take into consideration everything. Rush does not want you to just think like him.. but when you listen to him & realize that most of what he says is true then you do start thinking like him.. I dont know if the above made any sense but that is how I feel about it.

I was a conservative long before Rush Limbaugh's radio show ever came on...what impresses me about Rush, as opposed to such as William F. Buckley, William Bennett, et al, is that he says what a lot of Americans actually believe, in plain language. No sugar-coating, no lofty tomes to reference, just PLAIN.
And I do understand "the loneliness of the long-distance conservative"...I'm the only one of five siblings who is NOT a "Clintonista".

I started listening to Rush back in the 80's. Initially I was amused. He is an entertainer, and I think people tend to forget that. The man is just plain funny. But after listening to him for awhile, you begin to realize he is passionate about what he "preaches". The fact that he is able to insert humour into his show is what has captured many a listener. Let's face it....political talk shows can be just plain boring, but when you turn on Rush and hear a Parody of Ted Kennedy called "The Philanderer", you can't help but laugh, and at the same time you say to yourself...."that's right Rush....you hit the nail on the head with this one.
Here is "The Philanderer" (which was sung by a Ted Kennedy sound alike to the tune of "The Wanderer"). Even you Liberals will love this if you have never heard it:
Oh, well I'm the type of guy who would never settle down
Where pretty girls are, well you know that I'm around
I kiss 'em and I love 'em 'cause to me they're all the same
I get so gosh darned hammerd I don't even know their names
'Cause I'm a philanderer, yes a philanderer
I sleep around, around, around, around, around
Well my views are on the left, got a bimbo on the right
Only God will know where I'll be passing out tonight
And if you want to ask me which girl I love the best
I'll tear open my shirt, got mother Rosie on my chest
'Cause I'm a philanderer, yes a philanderer
I sleep around, around, around, around, around
Oh yeah, I'm the type of guy, he likes to roam around
I'm never in one place, I wake from town to town
But when I find myself falling for some girl
I walk right in that car of mine and I take her for a whirl
Because I'm a Kennedy, yes I'm a Kennedy
The car skids round and round and round and round and round
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
and another great one:
KENNA-DAY-O
(Sung by Harry Belafonte sound-alike to the tune of
"The Banana Boat Song (Day-O)"
Kenna-day, Kenna-day, Kenna-day, Kenna-day-ay-o
Kenneday clan is in trouble once more
Say Mr. Kennedy put back your banana
Kenneday clan is in trouble once more
Uncle Ted is naked out on the veranda
Kenneday clan is in trouble once more
Late one night down in Palm Beach town
Kenneday clan is in trouble once more
Brought young girl back to the big compound
Kenneday clan is in trouble once more
Hormones. Hormones.
Kenneday clan is in trouble once more
Kenna-day-o, Kenna-day-ay-o
Kenneday clan is in trouble once more
Up in Chappaquiddick Teddy looked for romance
Kenneday clan is in trouble once more
JFK couldn't keep it in his own pants
Kenneday clan is in trouble once more
Kenna-day-o, Kenna-day-o
Kenneday clan is in trouble once more
Kenna-day-o, Kenna-day-o
Hormones are raging they won't leave us alone
about ragging on Clinton. I think as long as Clinton himself throws himself in front of every photo oppurtunity he can find, and continues to critisize this sitting President, then Rush will continue to give him exactly what he deserves. The man disgraced this country and he continues try to claw and scratch his way back into the White House....which might not be a bad thing since then him and Hillary can return everything they stole!
