Plano Mother In Custody Accused Of Children's Murders

PLANO, Texas -- A Plano mother is in police custody while recovering from injuries after her two young children were found murdered in their home.

They were discovered Thursday night in the 1700 block of N Place by the children's father, who came home from work at 6:20 a.m. and found his wife injured in the garage. He then discovered his 3- and 6-year-olds dead in a back bedroom.

He called 911, and his wife was taken to Plano Medical Center.

Police spokesman Xavier Badillo said there was blood in the room where the children were found and that the mother was bleeding. He did not have any specifics.

"I just know that there was blood and the children succumbed to injuries," he said. "The father appeared, to me, pretty upset."

Badillo said the wife was arrested in connection to the deaths, based on a statement she gave police at the scene. Badillo did not know what that statement was, nor did he have any information on what charges she might face.

Investigators were waiting on a cause of death ruling from the medical examiner's office.

Police weren't releasing the names of the family members.

A 16-year-old daughter who lived at the house arrived about 10 minutes after police got to the scene. She was staying with relatives, Badillo said.

The small, one-story brick home is located in a tree-lined neighborhood.
