N.C. information needed please

#1 Postby John » Wed Sep 24, 2003 9:16 pm

I was looking for some information concerning areas in North Carolina, Just the other day my wife and I were notified that her Mother is very ill and needs some support. After discussing the situation with my wife I offered a decision that maybe we should relocate and take care of her, this would be a major relocation for me since I have been in South Florida for 27 years. We would need to purchase another home big enough for my Mother in law to stay with us. My question is to the posters here that live in North Carolina, Im looking for some impute on Wilmington, N Topsail, and Jacksonville, since I have not spent any great length of time in NC and my wife has been away from the area for a long time, what are these areas like and are they respectable areas for raising children, or should I be looking elsewhere. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I am from NC (lived here all my life), but i am not familiar with those coastal areas. Of the three wilmington would be the best in my opinion given the fact that it is a big enough city that your kids will not be bored out of their minds after moving from Miami to NC. N Topsail is quite small and jacksonville is pretty country...topsail is a touristy spot like Wilmington, but Wilmington can hold its own w/o being considered soley a tourist haven. Hope this helped, and if things don't work out come to the triangle...raleigh durham etc has been voted the best place to live in America a few times so we're doing smthg right.

John... I do not have any info on NC, but I would like to say how much I admire you and your wife for giving up so much to take care of her sick Mom. I think that is absolutely wonderful.

God Bless you both.

I have to second Linda's opinion here.. I think you and your wife are doing a wonderful thing, and I pray the Lord will richly bless you for what you are doing.
