Is anyone else just sick of coverage of Ben Affleck and J Lo's impending wedding/postponement and now apparent break-up? OMG......I could almost get sick each time they're on the news. This is news? Hello, how about Iraq? Isabel? To be honest I was bored with their "story" from the get-go.

Just had to vent........thanks.

VB, it's not just the topic, it's the little excursions off topic that are entertaining. You'll be back.

You have that right! I was watching a thing on J-lo on VH1 and this is a woman who spends $1000.00 for a 16oz tub of face cream.. ok not so bad, but she uses a couple a day over her entire body  We wont talk about the woman she fly's halfway around the planet to pluck her eyebrows....... Sure I can identify with her lifestyle... NOT!!!!!!! So my heart bleeds lumpy custard for poor J-Lo and Ben's romance woes...

OK im just jealous

Aww, Amanzi, you're aloud to be jealous. But now really if you said you were flying half way across the country just to have your eyebrows plucked, we'd have to have a serious talk with you!!! That, IMHO, is not the REAL world. This here, what we all have - our friendships, comraderie, support - is the real world. That was my main point of starting this topic. I just couldn't believe all the media attention given to these two celebs. I never saw what all the fuss was about to begin with! And that's not jealousy talking, it's just honesty. Give me someone like Mother Teresa, God rest her soul, or the Iraqi woman who started a school over there for children with Down Syndrome, anyday over a celeb like this. People like BA and JL seem to have lost touch with reality.

You are right Mary. How on earth can they live "real" lives when they cant even move out the front door without 20 bodygaurds. It must be very difficult in my opinion to keep a level head about the day to day things of just being a person. The media attention must get to them ( I know it would drive me nutty as a fruit cake!) Having people climb trees over your house just to get a picture of you feeding the dog!

So I ask myself, why is there such a demand for all the pictures and stories.... well IMHO the average Jo wants to be a part of all the glam and escape to some unreal place ... very very sad that the media can but does not use its power as you say to educate and bring stories worthy of the paper they are printed into the forefront.... Human society needs escapisim (sorry about the spelling!)
