Last time I was in really good shape....R and R from Vietnam to Hawaii in September 1970. Muscles hard as a rock...with an attitude to boot.

I consider myself blessed for not having any major ailments or limitations. I can (and sometimes do) walk for miles, swim some laps, and walk an incline trail.

I can put my granddaughter on my shoulders and make faces in the mirror, and I can still dance the chicken dance if no one is looking.

I armwrestle with my 6'2" sons (and let them win) and I discovered I can change a flat tire in 7 minutes flat in 104 degree heat.

I can see my belt buckle in the mirror, but still have a good view of my feet when I look down.

I can offer up a firm handshake and a look in the eye or a hug that means what is intended.

I've been trying since I was 5 to fold a sheet of anything in half more than six times...and have not yet succeeded.

I can hold my character to anyone else's for as long as they want to test it...without so much as a flinch.

All in all, at age 57 I'm in pretty good shape for the shape I am in...

..and I appreciate each sunrise as though it is the first one I have ever seen.

skyman, that reminds me of Bugs Bunny: "I'm big for my size."
