Thanks, furluvcats!!
We just now heard from the manager of the "other" three apartments....only one is in our school district (coppertop's so enmeshed in College Prep/Honors and Cross Country that it would be damaging to have to pull him out, and send him elsewhere), and the owners have a strict "No Pets" stance (POOR HO'!
)...
More as things develop, ladies and gents...but I ain't heard no "Fat Lady" yet!

The apartment we want...we are one of two "qualifying" applicants; we are ready to move NOW, but the other couple applied before us...and they are having trouble getting out of their lease. The owner says that he is giving them until Friday, 29 AUG to get this cleared up; if they don't, it's OURS!
Inundate Heaven, all ye Storm2K prayer warriors, friends and passersby, with your prayers...we are SO close!
I hope it works out for you!

Not placing all our eggs in one basket, we are now looking at four more units...two say "no pets", but we've found that this can be negotiable.
I wish I could just say, "Film at 11, 10 Central" so that you could view progress as it happens...

Bill.....the strength is coming back into your "voice" my friend! You seem to be covering all the bases.....not narrowing down your choice to only one apt. is an excellent idea. Do you know how long you will be at your present address?
I've been thinking about your Coppertop....do you have "school of choice" there? We have it here in Mi......it allows a student to attend anywhere he wants. How proud you and Deb must be of that kid! The way you're handling this challenging situation is teaching him a lot about life! Good vibes comin' your way!.............p

I WISH we had a "school-of-choice" here! No, he has to go to whatever school district he lives in; but some are better than others (New Madrid County's is a drug-infested mess, FI; Cape Girardeau is not much better, more "diverse", more violent).
Besides, he's already in College-Prep/Honors track (3.677 GPA), and is going for his Varsity letter in Cross Country (second year on the team)...and his counselor advises us against any sudden uprooting, since he's found his niche here (he has ADD..or is it ADHD?, a mild case). It took him three years in an academic "rut" to get him this far...we don't want to jeopardize that.

UPDATE...a total "washout" on these four...two are adamantly "no pets", one is way out of our price range, and the last was "already rented" (which begs the question, why was it still in the paper?).
Back to square three with the townhouse for the time being....it's the "only game in town" right at this moment.

It's not God's good timing that bothers me, southerngale...it's man's, and some are "ungodly" to say the least.
We're trying to avoid the sheriff's involvement, court, etc. (not that we wouldn't "win", but that's a kettle of fish we can do without) in securing a roof and moving before Collins has the opportunity to get ugly (as if they already haven't "earned" that title)...
That He will do as He will, we have no doubt, and we await His Pleasure. Collins will have to answer to a higher "Court" than they are anticipating, from which there is NO "appeal". Pray for them, too...they need His guidance and wisdom as well.
