We have an extra week in the UK, so for a week EDT is only 4 hours behind us.

Important that those who have smoking detectors change the batteries.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/03/ ... ag=related

This is one of two weekends a year when it's recommended that you change the batteries in your smoke detectors, and make sure they're working right. Those weekends are when daylight-saving time begins, and when it ends in the fall.

Some 3,000 people die in house fires in the United States each year, and smoke detectors cut your chances of being trapped in a house fire by more than half, experts say.

I know. I still have to get up at 6:30 tomorrow to watch Tottenham, but for a week the early Saturday game won't be until 7:45.

As usual, we have to change our minds, not our clocks. Starting tomorrow I need to remember that my son in California is now on the same time as we are, and my son in Illinois goes from one hour to two hours ahead of me. Clocks are easier to change than minds!!

And once again I've missed the change.....working through the weekend on a large ceramic floor.....quickly making calls telling crew I'll be late unlocking doors. Oh well it's Sunday....the entire crew usually never shows everyday on straight through non-stop jobs.

Be sure to change the time in your profiles. Click on User Control Panel in the top right corner of any page. Then click on Board Preferences on the left. Mark yes where it says Summer Time/DST is in effect:

Or one could use UTC time where you don't have to adjust for DST

I say this every year so I'll say it this year. DST is outdated and pointless.

I'd rather just keep it this way with more sunlight towards the end of the day and be done with it.
