$101.84

Entergy. Bill arrived today and statement date is 8/7/09.

We got a fuel adjustment surcharge of -$5.79. Our Storm Cost Recovery was $.67.

This amount is ridiculously low. I doubled checked. Our usage was down 11.3% from last year.

I'm convinced. Everything from attic insulation, light bulbs to upgraded HVAC and thermostats set at 84F with fans. It adds up.

And it helps if your out of town for two weeks out of the month. :cheesy:

My bill has been averaging around $300.00 that is with 2,000 sq ft house and 700 sq ft guest house running a window unit. My Mother has been living with us since April and her fall breaking her hip and surgery and Son home from college and him living in guest house. Mom is always cold even when thermostat set at 78 or 79, blood thinners. But house is hot. We had new double paned insulated windows installed and they are GREAT! Before they were single paned jallous windows and you could feel the heat and the cold coming in. It was well worth the 6 or 7 thousand we paid! We had them installed pretty soon after June of 06 when we moved here after Katrina so don't know what the previous bills were but windowed older lady owned house before and she said around $150.00 or so...don't really know about that. I know the time we came to "see" the house it was hotter than you know where in here!! ROFL!

Hopefully bills will be going down soon as we have gas heat so utility bills will go UP UP UP!!

Sounds like to me your fortunate the bill is only $300!!!! The new windows are paying you back quicker than you know. Most folks do no realize that insulated building products will pay themselves back....it's dollar for dollar. Even window blinds help. Imagine a $2.95 tube of ALEX caulk around a leaky window A/C unit paying itself back in one month? Sounds simple....then do the math.

I'd like to go off grid. Convert to DC. We used DC exclusively in the bush. The really cool deal is no monthly bill.

Up a little from last month to $610.00. We did have a house full for a week or two in early July though. Looking forward to the downhill slide. :double:

My July power bill wasn't terribly bad...about $200. I like to keep the place really cool during the summer.

I will never understand power bills. My June bill was based on all 30 days being 100 degrees. My July bill had a mix of 90's and 100's, but was $50 higher than June's. Same KPH and never touched the thermostat that has been set on 80. I go to bed the same time every day and do the same amount of laundry every day. The only I can think of is the days are longer, so more heat per day? Next year I'm keeping records of everything. It drives me crazy and plays heck with my tight budget.
