Cauliflower question

I've got a question about *colly flower*, I've never grown it until this year, when the plants were little, they started forming a head, it's purple mixed with white......now, when is it ready to harvest, same as cabbage, early fall?

I'm not a "colly fluer" expert... But if I remember right,growing up we harvested it aroung the middle to the end of August ! When it was about the size of a small kids size soccor ball. Maybe someone else will jump in here w/ a more professional discription .....~K
