Well, so much for that...the wife decided that, since I was not "IN the room", I wasn't interested...and turned over to LMN for "her" entertainment, which will continue unchallenged until she decides it's time for her to sleep.

I'm sorry you missed it Bill :(

They both confidently defended their decision to topple Saddam Hussein and I think they put all "skeptics" in their place. Of course many will just choose to ignore the facts anyway.

Some statements from the news conference:

"As long as I hold this office I will never risk the lives of American citizens by assuming the good will of dangerous enemies." ---Bush

To have hesitated "in the face of this menace when we should have given leadership ... that is something that history will not forgive." ---Blair

"We're being tested in Iraq. Our enemies are looking for signs of hesitation. They're looking for signs of weakness. They will find none." ---Bush

"We are allies and we are friends." ---Blair

American and British intelligence "made a clear and compelling case that Saddam Hussein was a threat to security and peace." ---Bush

"We promised Iraq democratic government. We will deliver it." ---Blair

*God Bless America and God Bless our President*

I thought they were both excellent. Bush was right in there with his replies to the press. He never hesitated for words. Tony Blair on the other hand was a bit reluctant to speak out and chose his words carefully. All in all I say Bush put the skeptics and all liberals in their place on this war with Iraq.

I disagree with you Linda (surprise surprise) about Blair's demeanor. Having heard many of his speeches to Parliment, I find him to be an excellant speaker, and very persuasive. I will contend that he was being a "little" cautious choosing his words, but who wouldn't considering the feeding frenzy the Dems are having with this.

Both leaders were excellant and I was pleased to see they didn't waiver. Blair made the most convincing statement of the day:

"The intelligence we have, we believe is genuine. We stand by that intelligence and one interesting fact ... in case people think the link between Iraq and Niger (search) was invention — in the 1980s we knew for sure that Iraq purchased some 200 tons of uranium from Niger," Blair said in a press conference with President Bush at the White House.
