I'm an getting quite a kick out of a co-worker who just recently moved to Florida from New York. She covers her head with a rain coat and runs screaming to her car every afternoon:
...swatting and screaming
...swatting and screaming
...swatting and screaming

...lol ...

We tried to explain they don't bite, but she is absolutely terrified.

I shouldn't laugh.

Can't help it.

I like telling them they do bite.... :grrr:

So when do they go away? I kind of thought they'd be gone by now. I think they might be a bit fewer in number now...maybe. I'm still seeing them around though.

It gets even better.....they don't actually sting....what they are doing is laying eggs in your skin. Mostly in your scalp where they are protected by your hair. Bald people have an advantage here.

LOL! I'll have to tell her about the "egg laying" ( snicker ).

Maybe next weekend we will invite her to go snipe hunting.

Or better yet ... I need to show her "Spider Sniffing"! With her fear of insects, I'd bet she'd rent a U-Haul and leave the state.

( For the unfamiliar....Spider Sniffing - a Girl Scout technique. After dark, you step outside, place a flashlight on the end of your nose and point it into the grass. You will see hundreds....HUNDREDS.. of little tiny glowing lights that look like dew drops. Pick one, keep it in your beam and slowly advance towards it. You will find the glowing "dew" is actually the eyes of tiny spiders. )
