I love this thing. I've seen it on message boards and blogs several times. Every time, only a small number of those responding actually said carrot, yet no one ever seems to notice that its just made up.

Carrot never entered my mind. I first thought potato then changed it to broccoli (sp). I guess I am really abnormal lol.

Yeah, it seems to be OK in here, but in other blogs/forums I've seen people going nuts if they didn't say carrot. They think something is wrong with them.

One time I tried to explain that there was absolutely no connection between six and carrot, and everyone jumped down my throat, trying to convince me that it had been studied and proven.

A good object lesson! It reveals just how much time and energy people will invest in defending things they think are normal...even when there is no logical basis for doing so.



Edited to add: It also shows us the extent to which people will follow something they view as originating from a source of "authority", whether that authority be the internet or Congress.
