I just happened to notice that he was on about 7:30 (ET) last evening, and, since that show gave my Dad at least one hour of happiness a day, in the many days after my Mom was gone, I thought that since tomorrow is Father's Day, in his memory I'd watch the last 30 minutes of the show for him...

By the way, I'd have guessed too low on both grand prizes...

:shocked!:

Barker says O'Donnell could replace him

Sat Jun 16, 7:04 AM ET

LOS ANGELES - Bob Barker endorsed his friend Rosie O'Donnell as a possible successor on "The Price Is Right," although the newly retired host isn't sure CBS wants a woman to take over the game show.

"I believe they're going to have a meeting with Rosie," Barker said backstage Friday night at the Daytime Emmy Awards, where he won his 19th trophy.

"She knows the show," he said. "There's no doubt in my mind she could do the show. Now, whether they want a lady host, I don't know. I've never heard that discussed. As far as I know, they've only auditioned men."

Barker said his friendship with O'Donnell goes back several years, when she had him as a guest on her old daytime talk show.

I hope this doesn't go through. The world needs a break from Rosie for awhile...

I got some new info from an insider... apparently it's between Mario Lopez and Rosie. Kill me now.

Anyway... apparently Mario's auditions went really well, but he has a full plate with Extra, a new sitcom on The CW, and other stuff, so the higherups aren't sure it will work.

Rosie coming will alienate the current TPIR fanbase(the reaction is almost all negative at TPIR boards today) but she'd probably bring in new viewers. A big risk though.

I honestly don't want either one of them to come... Mario is only 33!

Oh my. When I first heard Rosie's name mentioned, I thought it was a joke. Are they crazy?

Like many of y'all, I grew up watching The Price is Right. With any replacement, there's no way it will ever be the same, but I can't think of a worse choice than Rosie at the moment. I would never watch it with that loud mouth hosting.

What the heck happened to George Hamilton? I was excited thinking that he was going to be the replacement.
They will never let Rosie have it. No way. And the other dude is just too young. They better not fudge this up.

O town.. Ya want George Hamilton.. I want Todd Newton. I can't even picture the show hosted by Rosie or Mario. The show may become a total joke..

Hope they find the replacement soon but are careful in picking it..

Based on the latest info, we are going to miss Bob even more(if that was possible), his last time coming through the doors... I can't imagine someone else doing it.

Note the big screen TV, his first entrance on the very first show, and by the way, has anyone else ever seen it? The crowd is SILENT during the calldowns, and initially the contestants are told to just stand up and then they all come down at the same time. Back then the show was only a half-hour, and there was no showcase showdown.

and here's three videos of three perfect bids in one show, which leads to some hilarious comments from Bob(Part 2 is the best when the sound people are apparently confused, lol). This was in the early 90's.
