Photo Printers

#1 Postby Janice » Thu May 10, 2007 12:05 pm

We have the regular printer attached to our computers. They print out pictures, scan and print other stuff.

Does anyone have one of those small digital photo printers that print 4X6 photos? I would like to get a small one just for photos. I frame a lot of them.

our printer is an Epson Pro 3800. since we frame most of my husband's photography work, a 4x6 is too small. this one prints up to a 16 x 20 picture. it has a very high dpi for b&w and color; 2880 x 1440. the pictures last much longer than a normal printers; prints from the 3800 to last more than 60 years when displayed behind non-UV filtered glass. however there are 8 ink cartridges which arent cheap.

I am a faithful proponent of Epson as well. If you don't want to get the 3800, you can get the 1280 which is still of incredible quality. The 1280's six-color printing requires two ink cartridges. This printer has been the professional's choice for sublimation printing for many years.

We have two large printers and copiers in our home office. I just want a small one for my desk, like the Kodak. Something small and just for the small photos.
