Your First Gift

#1 Postby Janice » Sun Apr 29, 2007 2:31 pm

Can you remember the very first gift your spouse, significant other, etc. gave you? Not a dinner or night out but an actual present or gift.

You bet! We had only been dating for a month when Christmas rolled around, and he gave me a bottle of my favorite perfume. Thanks for the reminder. :-)

Flowers on Valentine day when I was in San Diego and he was here in Lakeland. I was out there for the training school for my Navy training.

50 years ago next month my ex took me, his sister and mother to a larger town nearby to get our gowns for the Jr./Sr. Prom. We went off alone to shop. Though it took awhile I finally found a gown I really loved but I was $10.00 more than I had. He gave me the money I needed. I was never quite sure whether he loved the gown also or whether he was just tired of shopping.

Bye the way, we have been divorced for 17 years and he still buys me my favorite scent for my b-day and xmas every year along with a long distance phone card so I can call my kids and grandkids.

Don't feel bad, OTown, I can't remember either. It was probably flowers. Or it could have been tickets to Puerto Rico for the first time I visited him before we got married. He paid my round trip, so that was a nice gift.
