Was performing at an air show, reports say that a number of houses are on fire as a result on Pine Grove Road. Injuries or possibly fatalities unknown at this time.

That pilot is a hero. He rode his plane all the way in. Most people ask "Well, why didnt he eject and save his own life? He had the time." What they dont realize is that he saved a bunch of peoples lives by riding it all the way down. According to witness reports from where the plane crashed, it crashed into a grove of pine trees; which leads me to believe he tried his best (and suceeded) to steer it into the trees versus someones house. Here at Cherry Point, the Harrier pilots do the same thing, if they are over a safe area, they will punch out, but if they are over a residental area, they will fly it all the way down to minimize damage. Heard it was the pilot's first air show flight and that it was within the final few minutes too :( God bless him and his family.

They just had a little special on our local news at 11. Lt. Cmdr. Kevin Davis (the pilot) took some of the newscasters up last summer when they did an airshow at Pittsburgh International Airport. He showed them some of the maneuvers they perform and what it's like from the cockpit standpoint. Was sad seeing him stand there talking normal and having a blast doing what he loved to do. He also explained how he was overseas right after 9/11 and how proud he was to be fighting for our county.

RIP Lt. Cmdr. Kevin Davis
