DVR or TIVO......that is the question!
I am from the days of VCR's and now it has died a very painful death. We need a recording device and I need input on which way to go......Pro's and Cons please..........the easier the better, but must definitely get something SOON!!

Me too. I hardley watch anything at its real time now that I got my DVR about 6-7 mths ago. It is too easy.

No, you don't. Everything is saved on the hard drive inside. I got my DVR when I got satellite last year, after waiting on cable to return after Rita for what seemed like an eternity. I was dying to watch some TV and I LOVE my DVR! I have the dual DVR and I can store 100 hours of programming at one time.
I'm not familiar enough with TIVO to give a comparison.

Ok next stupid question(no yours wasn't stupid Sandi!)/comment. What you are suggesting/saying is don't get the dvr from cable, buy your own? Then hook it into the set up I already have which includes the cable box, dvd player and surround sound system? Yikes!!! I am challenged when it come to that much electronics beng hooked up.
