NATO unable to break deadlock

#1 Postby bfez1 » Wed Feb 12, 2003 3:26 pm

France, Germany and Belgium have refused to accept a scaled-down U.S. proposal for NATO preparations for possible war with Iraq. A fourth day of emergency talks are set for Thursday.

Either that, or we can supply Turkey with the AWACS and anti-missile defenses it needs, and @&%*# France, Germany and Belgium.

Earlier, I read or heard that the U.S. was (and should) seriously consider removing our troops and bases from Germany to Poland, Czech Republic and Romania; these former Warsaw Pact states would welcome us(!) and again, &*%#@ the ungrateful Germans (so much for the Marshall Plan, Berlin Airlift, etc...all wasted) and equally unappreciative French and Belgians (without U.S. intervention, both would have become Imperial Prussian provinces in 1914....or Nazi labor states in 1940).

I say they are either for us or against us. If they don't support us then I say leave Germany. The minute they need us it will be too late. I cannot believe that they feel like going into Iraq is a mistake, all the United States ever does is support other countries and now when we need them where are they..gheez  Oh well with Britain on our side who needs them. Thats it no more crossiants, chocolate or Mercedes Benz for me  :)
