#1 Postby Josephine96 » Thu Nov 03, 2005 1:09 pm

On my day off.. when I went over to Wal Mart today to pick up my check.. I picked up a couple other special goodies..

I got my 1st CHRISTMAS TREE! :)

A 4 ft.. pre lit white as snow Indiana Spruce.. It is fake btw {no real trees for me}

I also bought 2 strands of garland and some blue ornaments and a beautiful star to top it

Yay! I'm happy now :)

BTW: When I get it up.. I plan on taking some pics.. Maybe I'll post 1 here

I put mine up the weekend after Thanksgiving. However, when all my kids come home for Thanksgiving and I'm not gonna see them at Christmas, I put mine up for Thanksgiving too and have a Christmas Party Thanksgiving weekend.

Your tree sounds beautiful. Take a picture for us, ok?
Enjoy

I will more than happily take a picture for you guys when I get it up.. I probably will put it up around my birthday. {11/19}.. since that's the weekend before Thanksgiving this year..

I also just realized.. My days off at work are Monday and Thursday.. that means I may actually be off on the holiday this year..

How exciting for you!!! Your tree sounds so pretty...I bet you're itching to put it up now...if you break down and do it now, heres some comfort, you won't be the first! My grandparents take about 2 weeks to complete their holiday decorating, and they are into day 5 now....sigh...they'll be here visiting me in Cali in less than 2 weeks, expecting to see a full fledged holiday home, but I think I'll wait...and have us all decorate together...my aunt is also flying in for a few days and it would be extra special to throw on the Christmas music and decorate all together!! I do 12 trees...plus all the rest...so mine takes time too....We always have 1 fresh live tree...the rest are all fakies... Let us know if you decide to go ahead and decorate...sometimes its fun to have it done for Thanksgiving festivities!!

Well.. the itch had to be scratched

I have begun to put it up.. It's in a small corner of my room. Yes I said my room lol..

The reason I have it there is because since I'm really the only 1 in the house and there's really nothing that's gonna go underneath it.. I figure why not put it somewhere close..

I have already run into 2 issues which are about to be solved.. I apparently need ornament hooks and a hammer.. {NO I am not gonna bash the tree against the wall}. But my tree stand is not very level.. so I may walk across the street to Home Depot and get a cheap little $1 hammer. or 3 or however much it costs..Maybe I'll even just go back to Wal Mart for it lol. It might save me some bucks..

Also.. I'm trying to figure out how to put my star on top of my tree. I thought there would be a hole on top of my tree where I could just put the star in it. WELL OF COURSE IT'S NOT THAT SIMPLE! If there is a hole up there.. it's buried..

So off to get hooks and a hammer..

I just set my star up there against the tree support... when I try and put it on the top little stick thing it makes it droopy and then falls off.

I can't believe it is almost that time of the year again! It just seemed to fly by so fast! Where did the time go? I hope we get to see snow again for Christmas! Yeah, probably my chance of seeing snow again for Christmas 2 years in a row is about the same as winning the powerball.

Meanwhile.. here's an update.. My tree is still a little slanted  But I hung my dark blue garland and my blue ornaments on it. It's looking kinda nice..

as for the star.. the hell with putting it on my tree  I'm thinking about putting it on my window sill and using it as a decoration out my window..

I probably just need more patience

You're probably the FIRST S2k member to put up a tree this season. Congratulations and enjoy. I'll wish you and the others happy holidays in the weeks ahead, but for now it should help keep you in warm spirits.

We are putting ours up this year the weekend BEFORE Thanksgiving because our granddaughters and families will be here for Thanksgiving. So two more weeks to wait for us.

It's a nice time of year...and there's something about a tree that makes it seem better.

You just made a memory today.

Priceless.

Garland, Lights, more garland, tree star= 10 dollars

Purchasing your 1st tree, then decorating it even though you wanna throw the star out the window  priceless

I was planning on waiting till my birthday.. but I saw my tree sitting there.. and couldn't wait  so I put it up today
