Books & Art that You Should See...

I found a book w. CD at Borders bookstore, called Tales from Martha B. Rabbit. It is written and illustrated by Shirley Barber - absolutely one of the most gifted, pure and Good souls that I have ever been touched by. There is so much in this world that can grind us into the dust - especially for the kids - so much gloom and doom they see and hear at ever younger ages.

People my age never heard the word "predator" unless it was on a nature/animal documentary. We giggled in our pre-teen years at the word "s*x".

That is all gone.

But there are a few who still build Good things to shine in the world of children and of adults who still want to believe in that faded but still strong sense of wonder and imagination.

Do a "Google" and find Shirley Barber's official website. You'll be doing a service to yourself and any kids you have!

Well, Wilma is soaking us really good (Orlando, by OIA) for only the second time this evening. Locals stay safe and friends out there - thanks for the thoughts and prayers.

If you find and visit that website - take the time to read Shirley's story - especially her thoughts on creating things for children.
