I was a junior in college and my wife to be was an incoming freshman at orientation that summer. I was going to summer school and working on campus and knew all the orientation advisors. There was a big party in the "quadrangle" and me and my buddies went trolling for some "fresh meat" to take to a big party we knew about off campus.(we didn't go) I spotted 2 beautiful girls together walking around so me and my friend chose which one we were going to hit on and went for it. Very long story short, it was love at first sight for me and Susan. Didn''t even see her for 3 months after that and finally found her on the last day I was going to look for her. 7 months later we were married and we just celebrated our 34th in May.

College.
We both had other steadies my first year, second year (my sophomore, his senior) his transferred to another school and I had dumped mine. Decided he was safe to hang out with being that I wasn't interested in another full time relationship yet and he was spoken for. Well, that was in 1982.....this fall we will be married 19 years. (so much for no commitment!)

LOL
Met mine on a blind date when I was 15 (almost 16) We dated for 4 years off and on--more on--and finally got married in Feb 30 years ago.
His best friend was dating a friend of mine and we both needed a date for a party so she set us up. They both married others though--LOL. Hubby actually went to school with my sister and brother-in law and is their age (2 years older than me)
It was not love at first sight but we grew on each other and are still married after all these years--LOL

We met at a karate tournament in November of 1985. It was my first one as a white belt and my best friend had just kicked the crap out of me. OH I was so P****D I let that happen! Dave just showed up with an ice pack for my face and stayed out of my way. When I finally got over it, I thought, "That guy was the only one who did exactly the right thing." We got to talking after that and got married in June 1989.
.... then divorced in January of 1998....
..... and remarried again July 22 this year. We decided we're both too screwed up for anyone else to put up with...

I met Debi (beancounter) when she was 15, and I was 17; both members of "Sing Out Florissant Valley", a subgroup/training ground for the relentlessly cheerful "Up With People" casts.
We dated for about 8 months, then she dumped me (under some duress) for this absolute creep...part Australopithecine, at best (he soon after got her pregnant, and she married him, quit high school for a year, etc.; sad story there).
17 years later, I was sent by the City of Cool Valley, MO as its Emergency Management Director, to present an award to a Cub Scout pack that had helped us with passing out FEMA flyers. Entering the hall, swarms of boys were being chased around by the den mothers; one of these, a flaming redhead, turned and unwittingly displayed her profile and "that funny little nose", and...OK, now!
She came up to the dais where I was standing, and I saw her first name, then asked if her maiden name was "----". Her hands flew up to cover her face, she walked all around the perimeter of the hall, and returned with her hand out; I took it, saying, "Hi, 'Pumpkin'" (my old nickname for her).
Two years and several phone calls, a lot of mail (I'd moved back to North Dakota, she stayed in STL), and some hurried preparations later, we were married, and I got an "instant family" in my new stepchildren, four of them...11 months after, along came Coppertop.
This past July, we celebrated 18 years together.
You had to ask.

I met my husband through a friend of mine, Diane. He was her boyfriend's friend. Wet my on July 4, 1985. Thing of it was, he was there to be introduced to another girl. But she was acting kinda weird that night - trying to be stuck up and flirty at the same time. She was in the kitchen ignoring him (talking about how "cute" he was) and I said, "Melinda, go make him feel welcomed...he's the only one that doesn't know anybody here." She said, "I will....you go talk to him for a minute." (Okay, I was dressed in overall jeans and a sweatshirt, and Melinda was all dressed to the hilt...I wasn't any competition that night). We hit it off immediately, talking like old friends. A group of us were all going out to watch fireworks at the Astrodome, and Melinda just kept ignoring and flirting, ignoring and flirting....I do not know what was wrong with her. But a week later, Diane called me and said that Curtis had been asking her boyfriend about me all week. "Can I give him your number?" Absolutely!!
We married 11 months later and had our first child 13 months after that. We've been married for 19 years.

Well I met my husband Eric at middle school for the first time. We didn't start dating till High School at about age 16. I moved in with him at 19. And atcually we haven't wed yet. We had 3 wonderful girls together. We are 32 years old, so we have been together for half of our lifes.
Maybe one day we will actually put it on paper and get married.
It has been 16 years since we had that first kiss!!! And 14 years of living together. Ya know when we actually do get married legally all those years WILL count I will just add them on. As far as we are concerned we are married, and refer to each other as husband and wife.

Wow...there are more of us out there! My husband and I met online several years ago also, at Weather.com. We knew it was a forever thing long before we met in person for the first time too. Next May is our 5th wedding anniversary, and I couldn't imagine ever spending the rest of my life with anyone else. Our marraige has been a true blessing.
