SUV for me. I have a Tahoe 4wd. Live on a lake and have a boat/jetskis, so I need something that can easily haul them. Also compete in dog agility, so I travel all over with my two Aussies, all the gear I need, and my dog friends that travel with me. So yeah it fits me well. Also do a ton of over the mountain pass driving in the winter. Did cost me $65 bucks to fill up the other day.....Oh well its the price I pay for the lifestyle that I enjoy. Sure a minivan would probably do just as well, but I am a single 28yr old male, don't think the chicks would dig that LOL

Me I got the beastin Dodge Ram van. The conversion type. I love it. It has the extented roof so you can practially stand in it. Great with 3 kids, and when they are in the back the bikering like they like to do, it isnt as bad, because they are way back there. There is also a "real" t.v. in there too, so they can watch movies or what not. It does suck down some gas but really not to bad. I don't think I could ever go back to anything smaller. Next vehicle will be a conversion van as well, hopefully with just as many pluses as this one has. :)

I had a Dodge Caravan when my boys were young. We could load up all their stuff and thing. It was great to go camping in or a day at the beach.......MGC

Someone at the office told me, a few weeks ago, that they could no
longer afford to fill-up their SUV at the gas pump - I thought, hmmmm...
it takes about $40 to fill up my old beloved road demon '92 Lumina,
affectionately known as "The Luminator", from needle on "Empty".
Good grief! I used to own an SUV (remember the Mazda "Navajo"?)
and, I loved it - but, I couldn't afford to run it, now!

My simple Honda Civic (smallest engine Honda makes, ie "glorified lawnmower", as I call it) needed muffler work yesterday. CarX needed it for a few hours so I hiked a few blocks to do some shopping. Passing several used car dealerships.

For sale were.....

One Hummer, only $39,999....

Several SUV's......

And lots of Jetta's, with MPG tags hanging below every rear view mirror. Funny, I didn't see these displayed on the Hummer or SUV's!

Mary

PS - I have renewed appreciation for my car's dinky engine. I am getting about 35 MPG in the city. So what if I have to, while merging onto the Interstate and/or pass a semi, A. turn off the A/C and B. downshift into 4th!
