Gunman Shoots 3 Before Killing Self At N.Y. Factory

NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. -- There's been a shooting at a factory north of New York City.

Police say three people have been shot at a Hudson Valley, N.Y., perfume and nail polish factory by a gunman who then killed himself.

Police identified the gunman as Victor M. Piazza, of Warwick, N.Y. The Middletown Herald-Record reported that the shooter was a former employee who was fired about a year ago.

New Windsor police Lt. R.S. Hovey said the three victims were all in critical condition. Hovey said he believes they all suffered head wounds.

New Windsor police said the shootings occurred at Verla International, which has about 400 employees.

New Windsor is 55 miles north of New York City.
