Flipped on the tube this evening and Big Brother was on CBS. Made me wonder, are any of the houseguests affected by Katrina in their home states? Have they told any or all of them about it, like they did after 9/11? I'd watched a few eps before Katrina and I remember HG's like Maggie, Howie, Beau, Kayson. I'm sure other names will be familiar if I hear them.
I know they're supposed to be "secluded" but I would hope they would tell them about this in the same way they told them about 9/11, so they can know if their families, friends, and distant relatives are safe.

Oops, sorry, Eric. 
I just know it'd kill me to be away from news sources for as long as they're in that house (general news, of course). I'd be lost and miffed if I was cut off from it during a major crisis like this, especially with friends or family in the area).
I know this is small potatoes though, compared to what's happening in the real world (and, no, I don't mean the MTV series). I just couldn't help but wonder when I saw that it was on tonight.
I just know it'd kill me to be away from news sources for as long as they're in that house (general news, of course). I'd be lost and miffed if I was cut off from it during a major crisis like this, especially with friends or family in the area).

Ivette is from Miami Beach... and I think Janelle is from somewhere near there. Howie is a meteorology student in Chicago... Maggie's from Las Vegas(I think), so no one was in the hard hit areas... but Howie keeps going around calling himself "Hurricane Howie" so I wish they would tell him about it...
I personally think they should know... For 9/11, one of the HG's had a cousin who worked at the WTC.

It appears they did not tell the hg and I am kind of surprised. In a way, though, I guess they figure that people looking for an escape to the pre-Katrina days can find it here since they don't relaize what happened. What a shock, though, once they get out of the house. What about the 3 in the sequester house? Given the name, you would assume they do not know either. I know Sarah was from Chicago, but what about Jen and James?

Jennifer is from Houston?(One of the big cities in Texas), and James is from Atlanta. Rachel's from Colorado...
