FYI, our local met, Bob Harrigan on Channel 7 just said on the 11 pm news that Hurricane Warnings will probably go up for Sarasota County with the 11 a.m. advisory on Sunday.

Sobering.

Remember the southern half of Katrina and Rita fall apart approaching landfall? That is simply not the case for Wilma, she's been hugging the coast for well close to 12 hours now and still looks very organized on radar.

Yeah... SW wobble agreed... Playa del Carmen might be catching some of the eye calm... but not for long.... these people are getting so hammered!

The reefs between Cozumel and the mainland will largely be laid to waste, but some really cool canyons will be cut too... making for some really nice scuba. 8-)

Yes it did wobble SW, but yet again in an hour it can take a giant jump north, every wobble counts now, but a counter-wobble(LOL) can happen to!

Its kind of interesting, it would actually have a better chance of hitting the "old" forecast point, rather than the revised 11pm track point further east. Go figure this crazy...............storm......

This wobble VERY bad for Cancun, the strongest portion of the strongest eyewall (the outer one) has been sitting over Cancun for over six hours. Yes, I do mean sustained winds over 130 for six hours. Very bad situation, won't be surprised to see some of the poorly constructed buildings completely flattened once the damage reports come in.

And the hotel zone... sitting on a barrier island.... I would expect part to be completely washed through?

Reports are that the HZ was completely evac'd... I sure hope so.

Photos in another thread show that. Thankfully, though, waters around Cancun are fairly deep, still, a 10-15 ft surge is quite possible, and a barrier island could indeed be washed through.

Think you could say it officially made landfall on the mainland YP judging by the 3:15 frame? Looks like the center of the eye is now on the mainland coast.
