What island is this?
*This is a NHC map edited by me*
What island is that? I looked using Google Maps and there isn't an island right there in that exact spot. There is an island below it (Islas del Cisne) however on Google maps and I don't know if it's the same one.
If it's the same island, that map needs editing since it's in the wrong spot.

The map projection is the same as Google Maps as far as I know. I have looked at all kinds of maps and there is another island near there that I have only found in a old map book from the 60s that was called "Swan Island" or something similar. The maps I have looked at sometimes show this island or doesn't.

Re: What island is this?
I have an antique map which I received as a gift some years ago.....(after I ran away into the Carib and came home).
The name on this map is "Viciosas". A Google search shows that it is part of what is known as the Swan Islands. The map I have shows the island at precisely 18 degrees north latitude. Just north of Viciosas is an area called Misteriosa Bank......which is a submerged atoll. Present day maps show Swan Island to the southeast of Viciosas.

I can see it on Google Earth, but when I zoom in on it, the image doesn't get clearer and it doesn't show a name.

Hmmmmm...?? Secrecy. I wonder what they are hiding? We should invade the island! God only knows what they are planning. Ready the 82nd Airborne. A BMET 900 foot combat jump. By lunch the place will be ours!

After googling atlas maps and viewing them, i've come to the conclusion that this is the swan islands also known as las islas del cisne. I also googled swan islands and found a few sites there.

If that island doesn't have at least about 3000 feet of flat land, it'll be pretty worthless as a secret military base.
But if it has a lagoon where sea planes could land, well...

If you clicked on the 3rd link that i posted you'd see that there is a 3800' grass air strip.

So it isn't the real location of 'Fantasy Island' then...
