Forum Changes

#1 Postby mf_dolphin » Tue Sep 30, 2003 9:24 pm

We've taken your input and decided to make some forum changes. Here are some highlights but take some time and go exploring :-) It's like a scavenger hunt...."WHERE DID THEY PUT THAT NOW?"

NEW Forums

Winter Weather - For those of you that actually like that cold stuff ;-)

Community Center - Gardening, Hobbies, Recreation, Birthdays and yes the S2K Bar! :-)

Renamed Forums

Greetings and Stats - New member welcomes and our latest Board Stats

Board News - This is for the Admin Staff to place S2K board news and announcements. Members will be able to reply to threads but not create new ones. This should help keep the other Forums clean from announcements. Please check here often :-)

We have also enabled pruning on some of the S2K Extra Forums. Pruning will not impact your individual post counts but it will help keep the board a little cleaner. The Weather Forums will not be pruned :-) Got to keep a good record of all the Crow Dinners :-)

We hope everyone likes these changes. As always it takes getting used to...

We are striving to make Storm2k better and better for its members.

Thanks,

Great job, indeed.

I appreciate the changes Marshall, Chad and Patricia. I am enjoying this site more and more, if that's possible. :D

Looks great to me...great job! ;) The only thing I would do yet is put the Board News forum 1st under the Off-Topic section. ;)

I like it alot.

All the stickys and announcements were starting to grate a little.

When a new post came up in any forum, you would have to look 5 to 7 "topics" down to find it.

Thanks

Yes, I like that thre aren't as many stickies and announcements in all of the forums. It keeps things cleaner.

But don't be too liberal with adding forums. What we have now is PLENTY.

I appreciate you mentioning that Lyle.

It wouldn't bother me a bit if we were able to consolidate some more forums. I may have clicked on 'Weedin' twice. And my Wife is a florist! (BTW, I'm still trying to get her to join :o )

If some more of the boards were consolidated, I would probably be more apt to find posts that peaked my interest.

Just a thought

I see your point, Lyle and RP. However, we shouldn't only have two or three forums... then there MAY not be enough to read and post about.

I noticed the new name changes last night when I was on.
Do you think that the "Pot Belly Stove" and the "S2K Kitchen" thread should be on the Community Forum as well?

I agree that the gardening should be combined within a "Community Forum".

Hey Stephanie.. I moved the Kitchen thread over.. The Admin team all agrees that the Pot belly stove should stay in off topic... Its been featured there from the begaining.. They kind of go hand and hand..

Thanks for the suggestions :-)
