Everyone so far likes the idea.........I've got another idea if space is the problem, I've noticed that the off topic forum with all the others have MANY, MANY, MANY pages to them, some go WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY back, now why couldn't some of those be deleted??? Is there a reason to keep page after page of posts up for so long? I know with TWC (sorry to keep bringing *them* up "LOL") but after 30 days, the old threads dissappear, I would think 60 days would be long enough.........just my 2 cents worth!

There were ten members that gave their opinion, 7 for a recipe forum, 3 against.
If older threads are deleted than new members will not be able to see what we have been discussing. Leaving them as is will give them the chance to at least scan them over if they wish.
Also, if older threads are deleted, we should have the chance to bump up threads that either we ourselves created and/or issues that we have enjoyed discussing so (again) new members have a chance to at least scan them in case they have something to add to a particular topic.
The weather related forums would be the most appropriate threads to delete for obvious reasons. The off-topic issues are ongoing and any of the members (especially those that have joined in the last several weeks have a chance to look at.
Here's a suggestion, that probably wouldn't delete that many posts/threads... but an idea nonetheless...
Delete the older, never replied to posts

If those with at least "only" three posts don't have much bearing than those could be removed, too.
