For those of you needing sheetrock along the MS coast, or in New Orleans, it can be very difficult to find. A couple of weeks ago I was in Gautier, MS. My sister and I put up nearly 50 sheets in my mother's house. Getting the sheetrock was a challenge - at first. We tried going to the local home improvement stores (Lowes / Home Depot) and they wouldn't take orders or deliver. You basically had to be there at the right time as a shipment came in to get any. But we found a better way.
My sister in Baton Rouge checked the local Lowe's and they said they'd deliver to Mississippi for only $120! We ordered the sheetrock from the Lowe's in Baton Rouge and they delivered it into my mother's garage in Gautier. That's a great deal, as it was going to cost us over $300 to rent a truck, plus WE would have to load and unload the 50 sheets of drywall. Now I don't know if you can order the drywall remotely, but you certainly can drive a couple of hours over to Baton Rouge, order it, and tell them what day you want it to be delivered.
We're planning another trip over to Gautier at Thanksgiving to paint the walls, cabinets, and install baseboards. What a mess over there!
