Very interesting presentation on rebuilding Waveland. Also has a few maps that shows the damage I have yet to see.

Great information... and I wish them all the luck in the world. Waveland has been the "beach" town for my family for as far back as I can remember--many friends live in the area, which is why I recall so vividly going there after Camille. I find the pictures of the "stilt" houses rather intriguing.

Like New Orleans, and many other areas--Waveland will return--too much beautiful beach out there not to.

I wish the prognosis for St. Bernard Ph. were as hopeful.

The damage assessment overlay map is flawed. The map displays only catastrophic damage south of the railroad tracks. This is misleading. Hundreds of homes in Waveland north of the tracks were either destroyed or considered complete losses. Clearly the area along Waveland avenue suffered alot more damage than indicated by this study.

Wishful thinking. Developers will move in and buy out the people not wealthy enough to rebuild.
