It is an incredible sight! Homes near the Industrial Canal were lifted and moved by the water flowing into the city. The homes came to rest in a big pile a few blocks away. The power of flowing water left me speachless. The only recourse is the bulldozer I'm afraid. Near total destruction. I feel for these people......MGC

I drove through the 9th ward a few weekends ago and took quite a few pictures. The devastation was unbelievable and blocks upon blocks need to be completely bulldozed. Here are some pictures I just uploaded, but I'll say that the pictures don't do the damage justice. As MGC stated, the first few blocks from the levee look like the Tsunami hit. The force of the water must have been incredible as it burst through the levees.

This one really touched me, we all know what the hole in the roof is for.

A whole lot of lives changed, not to return to "normal" for years to come - if ever....

Just unbelievable what people along the Gulf Coast went through. It is amazing that anyone is still able to fuction in this world. It is heartbreaking to see images of people's lives destroyed in front of them.
