I just combined side by side two of the best before/after photos I could find.
The overall image is 5MB and is hosted on my webserver (which I hope wont overload) so click the link only if you actually want to see it... and save it if you must so you dont keep re-downloading it. But view it once... it's pretty shocking.

In the upper right side of the of the side by side pictures posted by NateFLA is the University of New Orleans and its Lakefront Arena which seats about 10,000. Amazingly it is still dry land there. I haven't heard anything about that area. I wonder how many people might have seeked refuge there after the levee broke and are now starving and dehydrated.
